I never realised I could enjoy not playing in a quiz (despite my worst efforts) so much. An excellent night, and may I humbly congratulate Andrew on a fantastic pairs set.

The Goose and the Gladiators both were excellent, and It was so good to see these two new names competing for the trophy. Well done the handicapper as well.

Thanks

Steve

I'm in complete agreement Steve, a fantastic evening's entertainment.

The Handicap cup final went down to the wire with some great answers coming from both teams. Congratulations to Beastfair Gladiators and commiserations to the Gaping Goose, who pulled back a largish deficit to keep the match alive right to the end.

Andrew's Pairs quiz was, as usual, a brilliant competition. Congratulations to my Wanderers team mate Lee Warburton and Terry Moxon of the Beastfair Gladiators for winning - it was obviously Terry's night!

Thanks to Simon and Andrew for organising the event, I'm sure they think we take it all for granted but I for one am very grateful that they continue to give us such superb entertainment.

Yes, it was an enjoyable night, and it was especially good to see a report and pictures on the website within 24 hours of the event (perhaps this speediness explains the accidental coining of the verb 'presentate' Smile ). If anything, the night was too short and perhaps we ought to start a bit earlier in future so the first part of the Pairs Competition doesn't have to be gone through at such a gallop. Particular congratulations are due to Terry, who did the Handicap/Pairs double (though I see this has been achieved before by David Lyle and a certain Simon Curtis).

Neil.

On the subject of the above, I'm just running a little project through my mind to see if I can think of anyone who has a complete set of winners medals for all the FTQL competitions over the years.

Lee Brigands have won First Division, Second Division, Knockout Cup, Plate, Handicap Cup, Charity Shield, so along with having won both Division One and Division Two Individual competitions, that might put Steve Stenson in the frame.  He hasn't won a Shaun Flanagan Memorial Trophy, a 15-1 or a Pairs though, do we count those?

Anybody suggest anybody else?
